“The Best Kept Secret – the Most Popular Event in Town”
“Swing into Spring” – is a mini fundraiser supporting the Scholarship Fund of the WMC and the WMC McLellan Competition. Each year, in May, members and friends are invited to a luncheon – to share a glass of wine, great food, and to enjoy musical entertainment – all held in a stately, elegant home in Winnipeg.
On May 18th, 2017 – our event was held at Debbie and Sandy’s beautiful home in Cresentwood. They very graciously welcomed over 150 members and friends to sit down, relax, and enjoy lunch in one of many charming rooms in their home. The music was presented by David Liam Roberts – cellist – one of our WMC Scholarship winners in 2016. This artist’s musical repertoire completed the picture of relaxation and contentment.
This cultural fundraiser seems to grow in popularity each year, since its inception in 2001. We invite friends to support our WMC Scholarship Fund and the WMC McLellan Competition by saving the date to come for lunch in a charming family home in Winnipeg. Guests seem to love viewing many of the homes that are opened to us for this event.
Thank you to our hosts this year – Debbie and Sandy and those hosts over the years, who have supported the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg by providing their homes. Thank you also to the incredible committee who ensure that every guest has a memorable afternoon!
We appreciate all the support the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg receives in its efforts to support the young musical talent that is so rich in this province – and help them step closer to achieving their goals!
Our 2017 WMC Scholarship Winners perform on Thursday, December 28th, 2017 @ 7 pm at the Winnipeg Art Gallery! It’s a near sell out event each year, so please save the date, and come listen to some of Manitoba’s incredible young artists!
Consider joining us for “Swing into Spring – May 2018!” We’d love to see you there!
