Each November the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg hosts the winner of the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition (also known as the E-Gré Competition). So we are excited to hear their announcement of the eight semi-finalists from the 2014 voice competition.
They are: Catherine Anne Daniel, Edmonton, AB; Dorothea Hayley, Vancouver, BC (from Ottawa, ON); Camille Hesketh, the Netherlands (from Vancouver, BC); Sarah Kirsch, Winnipeg, MB (Cranbrook, BC); Andréanne Paquin, Montréal, QC; Brittany Rae, Toronto, ON (from Calgary, AB); Alexandra Smither, Toronto, ON (from London, ON); Stephanie Tritchew, Toronto, ON (from St. Catherines, ON).
As they shared in their article, “This year the competition is open to Canadian vocalists between the ages of 18 and 35. Held annually at the Brandon University School of Music on the first weekend in May, it alternates between Voice (2014), Strings (2015), and Piano (2016).” You can read the entirety of the article on their Facebook Page.
We greatly anticipate hosting one of these amazing female vocalists in our concert series this November.
